We are excited to welcome Mae Young to the Kanuka Teaching team. Mae is a Greenhithe local who will be guiding our Thursday early morning classes.
A Tamaki local, Mae completed her 200-hour Hatha yoga training at Kindred Studio located in sunny Nelson. Her practice combines grounding breathwork with invigorating vinyasa heat to offer a balanced and rewarding yoga experience. With a deep commitment to mindful movement, she helps her students connect more fully with their bodies, cultivating strength, flexibility, and inner peace.
In her nutrition counseling, Mae draws from the Te Whare Tapa Whā model of hauora (wellbeing), ensuring that physical, mental, social, and spiritual health are all considered when guiding clients toward their wellness goals. Her approach is both personalized and compassionate, shaped by five years of academic study in nutrition and a Master’s in Dietetics.
Mae believes in the transformative power of somatic movement and the importance of authentic connection, both with oneself and others. She is passionate about building a sense of community, where individuals feel supported and empowered, wherever they are in their journey. Music and dance is another tool Mae uses for somatic movement and self expression.
