OUR VIBe

KYS - B Mark_1.png
KYS - B Mark_1.png

A neighbourly space to breath and move mindfully in the community of others.

Culture of Care

We are guided by the principle of non-harming (ahimsa) and orient towards community (kula)

We approach each member of this community with a spirit of dignity and mutual humanity.

We honor an individual’s agency and promote their empowerment through the offerings we share.

We welcome authenticity and presence.

Accessible & Inclusive

We celebrate the complexities of the human condition and aim to provide offerings to meet a spectrum of needs.

Studio is wheelchair accessible, specialised classes for ACC sensitive claims, pregnancy and postnatal, access to low-cost options, equipment to support variation, online library, and venue hire.

Diversity

We honor wellbeing frameworks and traditions from around the world including Yoga, Eastern philosophy, Indigenous nature-based perspectives and modern Western systems.

Our teachers blend their lived experiences and learned traditions to share integrated offerings (traditional and modern) which we hope will resonate with our community.

Acknowledgement
to South Asians

We want to send deep gratitude to our many amazing South Asian Kanuka Yoga Space community members. We acknowledge South Asians are the original wisdom keepers of the yogic tradition and the embodied knowledge which resides deep within you is celebrated here. It’s an honour to hold space for you, witnessing your practice, and learning so much from your presence on the mat.

There’s a reclamation of indigenous and ancient traditions. And we’re honoured to walk alongside you as you remember your roots.

In a modern and digital society - we are craving truly holistic systems that nourish our bodies, minds, and spirits. Yoga is one of the most accessible paths to address our wellbeing. A system which integrates movement and sound, breath, gratitude, and most importantly, community.

Yoga is a great practice to begin your own inquiry into what stirs your soul. Perhaps tapping into this ancient system, will remind you of the ancient wisdom that resides within you.
